PU adhesive for bonding EPDM membranes

A ready-to-use roof glue for bonding FlexiFoil EPDM membrane to the flat roof surface up to 15 cm from the upstand. This adhesive glue can be applied to horizontal substrates such as wood, bitumen, concrete and PIR insulation boards with glass fleece. The advantage of this adhesive glue is that you can still correct the installation of the EPDM membrane. You can apply beads of glue or spread it out.

Step-by-step plan

  1. Make the substrate dust- and grease-free.
  2. Lay the FlexiFoil EPDM foil on the roof surface and let it rest for a few hours. Then fold it back halfway.
  3. Apply FlexiFoil Surface Glue to your roof surface up to 15 cm from the roof curb or wall. Apply the bonding adhesive at least every 8 cm in a crease with a minimum width of 7 mm. A minimum adhesion of 50 % should be achieved. For this partial adhesion, the use of the adhesive is 225 g/m².
  4. If desired, you can spread the adhesive with a roller or floor wiper. The consumption will then be 300 g/m². For full bonding, at least 90 % of the FlexiFoil EPDM foil must be adhered to the substrate.
  5. Fold back the FlexiFoil EPDM film between 5 and maximum 20 minutes after applying the FlexiFoil Surface Glue. No skin should yet be visible on the adhesive bead. Make sure the FlexiFoil EPDM foil has no folds or air bubbles. Gently press the FlexiFoil EPDM film with a soft broom.
  6. Now fold back the other half of the FlexiFoil EPDM and start bonding as shown above.
  7. Clean your roller or floor wiper before the adhesive has cured.
  8. Always use protective gloves.
